The machine is designed around the material — large-diameter pipes, varied wall thickness, and post-consumer contamination are all built into the sizing logic.
Whole HDPE pipes and bundles are loaded directly into the horizontal feed hopper. The hydraulic pusher ram feeds the material steadily into the cutting rotor, eliminating manual pre-cutting labor.
The low-speed, high-torque single shaft tears through thick-walled HDPE pipe with hardened steel blades. The slow rotor speed reduces dust, noise, and heat compared to high-speed granulators.
A bottom screen controls the output size. Typical screens are 50–120 mm for primary shredding to feed a granulator or washing line. Screen size is selected based on downstream requirements.
Shredded pipe regrind is conveyed by blower or belt to the next stage — crusher, washing line, or storage — with far more stable handling than whole pipe lengths.
Large OD HDPE pipes (110–1200 mm and above) and thick-walled PE bundles cannot be fed into vertical crushers or standard granulators. The horizontal hopper and long feed chamber accommodate the real feedstock.
Round pipes tend to roll and bridge in top-feed machines. The hydraulic ram pusher forces material into the cutting zone consistently — no bridging, no manual intervention.
At 15–40 RPM, the shredder produces chunky regrind with minimal fines — better for downstream washing efficiency and pelletizer feeding stability than high-speed alternatives.
The discharge can be configured for blower conveying, belt conveying, or direct gravity feed to a crusher stage — making this a practical first-stage addition to any HDPE pipe recycling line.
Large-diameter HDPE pipes are too bulky to feed into granulators or vertical crushers.

These inputs define the machine configuration. Generic requests ("a 90 kW pipe shredder") lead to undersized or oversized machines.
Provide the OD range (minimum and maximum diameter), typical wall thickness, and the maximum pipe length that will be fed. These three dimensions determine hopper size, rotor width, and motor power.
Specify HDPE80, HDPE100, or mixed PE/PP, plus contamination type (soil, fittings, metal inserts, concrete, liner material). Contamination profile affects knife specification and maintenance intervals.
Confirm the required shred size (typically 50–120 mm for primary shredding to a crusher or washing line). If output goes direct to pelletizer, specify the required granule feed window.

No. The horizontal design with hydraulic pusher ram is built to accept full-length pipes directly. Pre-cutting is not required and would reduce the main advantage of this machine.
Output size is controlled by the bottom screen. For primary shredding before a crusher or washing line, typical screens are 50–120 mm. The screen is selected based on your downstream process.
Pipes with soil and minor contamination are handled routinely. Metal inserts and concrete should be removed upstream since they cause knife damage. A metal detector upstream is recommended for heavily contaminated post-consumer pipe.
